An improved performance against Liverpool, under the stewardship of Kevin Ball, meant the mood was slightly better in the studio for this week’s podcast. However, Stephen and I are still searching for that elusive first win of the season. We went for a four in the studio formation this week in an attempt to improve our fortunes. We were joined by Chris Young from the Sunderland Echo and Tom Lynn, former editor of the excellent Wearside Roar.

We speak at length about the ‘new manager thing’ as Goldy puts it. Succinct as ever. We run the rule over Poyet and examine Bally’s credentials for the full time position at the helm of our fast sinking ship. We review the Liverpool game, chat central midfielders (again) and most importantly preview the upcoming game against Manchester United. We were joined on the phone by ESPN’s Mark Lomas and he helped us on that front.

Emanuele Giaccherini reckons it’s a great time to play Manchester United. I’d argue it’s ALWAYS a great time to listen to the podcast. Find us on iTunes or get it here!

  1. Liverpool had a tough game at Sunderland last week, we also played the mancs at OT. We dominated them but they got a sneaky win, you can beat them but must really get after them from the off. Hit balls into their defence and Altidore can cause panic, If you start slow you will get beat.

They are very shaky, go and do them.
