SAFC v Tottenham Hotspur Guess the Score: a partnership is born

Let’s go early
, I thought. The international breaks are important of course, and it was naturally Sunderland AFC that turned Danny Welbeck into such an impressive striker.

But even though I have to return to France until October, I am excited as anyone planning to be at the SoL on Saturday about the resumption of proper football.

And I also have a great little partnership to announce.

Personalised Football Gifts has a head office with Wear in the address – it’s at the Weardale Business Cente in Stanhope – and, better still, is owned by a Sunderland supporter. Check out their SAFC-related merchandise at http://www.personalisedfootballgifts.co.uk/sunderland/sunderland-gifts.

And even better than all that, they have agreed to sponsor Guess the Score. So the competition no longer depends for a prize on Monsieur Salut’s unwise largesse. A mug, whether or not you regard that as life-changing, will be on offer to each and every winner.

More details will follow.

For now, have a stab at Saturday’s scoreline. Spurs fans may join in the fun and a winner from their ranks would receive a mug with suitably modified design.

Important game and there’s a top-rate Who are You? interview with a Spurs-supporting reformed Sun journo to come.

Now tell us Saturday’s score. Usual rules apply – entries must be posted before kickoff – and M Salut’s decision will be final.

    • Oh btw I actually think 1-0 us, Jozy scoring last minute, but given that that’s already taken, I’ll have 2-0 with Alvarez on the scoresheet too.

  1. Sorry Eric; I hope you’re revised prediction is correct. Personally, I’ll take a last-minute deflected bobbler 1-0 victory, as, like a lot of people; I’ve got few fond memories of Spurs games. One of the worst childhood memories I have is standing on the fence at the back right-hand side of the Fulwell, watching a terrible game in a bitterly cold biting wind and Gilzean scoring a header from a late corner. I’m still convinced the corner swirled out of play and then back in; I was devastated at the injustice.

And I’ve still not warmed up. Had a red balaclava on too….

  2. I don’t like playing Spurs. Always have a bad feeling.

    SAFC 2 – 3 Spuds

I’ll be delighted with anything from the game.

  3. My heart says 3-0 to the lads, my head says a 0-2 defeat. Let’s go for the 3-0, including a goal from Rodwell and 2 from set-pieces after they’ve choppped down Alvarez or Buckley after a couple of mazies……who will take our pens by the way?
