Guess the Score – Swansea v Sunderland: three wins on the bounce?

SWANSEAvSAFC

Malcolm Dawson writes…….just what is going on! Only a week after I advise you all to start your prediction with Sunderland Nil we get five goals in two games and what’s more a home win! But just as we think we have almost a full squad available we find that Lee Cattermole is joined on the sick list by Connor Wickham, Adam Johnson, Jack Rodwell, Emanuelle Giaccherini, and Billy Jones. What with all that and Norman Stanley having to get up half the night to get the Aptimil Formula to just the right temperature (other proprietary brands are available), suddenly Gus’s choices seem limited again.

Of course the good news is that Defoe found the net, Alvarez showed some quality, Reveilleire looks class at right back and Seb will be there at the Liberty so there is cause for optimism. A forward thinking approach and a desire to play at least some of the game in the opposition’s half has produced two wins on the bounce. Will it be three? My fear is that Senor Poyet will revert to the defensive mindset which sent us all to sleep so often in the first half of the season but I’m not entering so 0-0 is still up for grabs. Whether or not you feel that the winning run will continue have a go at predicting the result on Saturday.

Be first with the correct scoreline and win a class mug from our sponsors Personalised Football Gifts of Weardale. Swansea fans are welcome to join in the fun and should one of them win, the design will be modified to show their team’s shirts. Be aware that only the first correct score will win but the timing of any posts held for moderation is logged so first time entrants aren’t disadvantaged.

Just be aware that those of you who live abroad will need someone with a UK address to get the mug sent to, should you win, as posting overseas is prohibitively expensive. Anglesey is OK though!

  1. Spent most of last week back home in sunny South Hylton and watched the Swansea match in The Cliff. I was very disappointed with our second half against Swansea, we looked tired, and all the history and bad omens about facing teams on bad runs has me worried that we are going to do a “typical Sunderland tonight.”

So, come on Lads, let’s do a 7-1 for our pocket dynamo Nick Sharkey, God bless him!!!

  2. I’ve a good feeling about this one but Phil D beat me to the punch with his forecast, so will just say “Haway The Lads”!

  3. Ever the optimist?
    2 nil to the Lads.
Hope Cuba is good – great music but a very difficult Spanish accent. As difficult as littoral Venezuelan or Colombian.
I liked Trinidad, a colonial town a few hours drive from Havana.
