With reports suggesting Lamine Kone’s ultimately wretched time at Sunderland coming to an end, albeit in unsatisfactory fashion with a mere loan to last season Ligue 2 champions in France, Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace, Salut! Sunderland has news that will surely gladden his heart and barely disturb the small change in his pocket.
For a mere £110, or a mere 123 euros thanks to a certain expression of the democratic will, Kone can sign up to watch all Sunderland games live.
So can anyone else living outside the UK. One day, football will catch up with the real world and make sure people can take advantage of purchasing such viewing rights wherever they happen to live (Cornwall, for example, arguably being as difficult as the Alsace as a starting point for a trip to the Stadium of Light. But live streaming WILL be available to UK viewers when matches fall outside EFL blocked periods (mainly Saturday afternoons) and are not televised.
It seems a steep price, but you do get a lot for it. When my ship comes in, I may sign up, too.

Sunderland AFC fans can now watch their team live, wherever they are in the world, with a new international match streaming service.
The subscription service, which is available to supporters outside the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands, allows supporters to watch every Sunderland AFC league game live online, with the exception of those selected for domestic or international TV broadcast.
The games will be available on desktop and laptop devices. Due to EFL regulations, an app is required to watch games on a mobile or tablet and the club will be launching a free app to allow supporters to do this.
A 2018-19 season pass, showing home and away league games, is available for £110. International video subscribers will also be able to access live audio commentary and full match re-runs as part of their package.
Additionally, supporters in the UK will be able to live stream selected games – specifically those which do not take place during the UEFA blocked hours of 2.45pm-5.15pm on a Saturday and are not being broadcast on TV. Fixtures on Bank Holidays will not be available for domestic streaming.
The first streamed game will be Sunderland AFC versus Luton Town on Saturday 1 August. The opening game of the season, against Charlton Athletic, will be unavailable for streaming as it is being broadcast by Sky Sports.
