The overall picture ie Moyes looked at it in its entirety rather than drilling down into a particular area. He came across well and will soon establish an authoritative position. It’s what we’ve needed for years

Holistic – dealing with the whole rather than the individual parts – which in a way explains why Gooch was preferred to Khazri in the starting line up.
Rodwell I thought did OK – anonymous for the most part but that meant he was doing his job. The through ball he played for Defoe was a peach of a pass. I’d give him a 6.
O’Shea did OK in the defensive side of Kirchhoff’s role but lacks the German’s ability to play a decent creative pass with any consistency.
With no Cattermole, Larsson, Kirchhoff or M’Vila to call on I thought Moyes got it about right.
