Moyes on the Boys from Leicester: the same old story

Moyes on the boys

David Moyes offers his post-match thoughts. We were well beaten in the end despite Moyes’s justifiable claims that we had previously played reasonably well. Just not good enough, most of us would say. Doomed, we’d then add. Moyes does not go that far, of course …

It was a positive performance but once again we’ve come away without any points.

I thought we played quite well; we were in the game for all the first half and the start of the second; I’m disappointed to leave empty handed.

I cannot fault the players and I’ve not all season, tonight they went out there with big energy and gave a big effort in the game.

I don’t think Leicester played particularly well, we did a good job against them but it just wasn’t good enough.

We had chances but they just didn’t fall for us tonight; Victor [Anichebe] was denied by the crossbar and there were a few more chances we missed, it’s those fine margins.

We didn’t see the game out and we’ve had that problem many times this season, there was a lapse in concentration and despite playing well we couldn’t finish the job off.

To have Victor back was a big boost, he gives us another option and Lee Cattermole did well for us too, his leadership is great and all in all it was a good performance from him.

  1. Moyes can’t go far enough for me……..and claiming that he hasn’t criticisised the players this season is laughable.

Yes the performance was better, but still not good enough by a long stretch.

We are down and we are going to end up being stuck with Moyes next season, so nowt to look forward to then or any time soon!
