Salut! Sunderland’s Hong Kong diary: (2) the buildup to SAFC v Spurs in pictures

Here is day two
of Paul Goldsmith’s account of his Hong Kong odyssey. See the first, exceptionally well-received instalment here: https://safc.blog/2013/07/salut-sunderlands-hong-kong-diary-where-are-the-tottenham-and-man-city-fans/.

As we await kickoff against Spurs later this morning, today’s report is restricted mainly to another attempt at a photo gallery. This may may well prove a greater challenge than Monsieur Salut’s website skills can handle.

The verbal update from Paul includes good news on the ticket front: “I’ll update diary tomorrow if anyone interested as it’s been messy. Got ticket now for match so surprisingly still on drink. Surely must sleep soon.”

The photos show, in no particular order, Paul with his pals Tommy and Lynn (Goldy Senior in the middle); the view from his hotel room; that room itself; a bar’s advertisement for the game; a red and white but unstriped taxi (Paul, a cabbie himself, couldn’t resist snapping the tool of his Hong Kong confrere’s trade) and the generic tour image.

  1. Plz as a Australian born in Durham 28 yr die hard safc supporter plz pdc do not sell sessegon he s the only player for yrs that we ve had with enough guile to create things from nothing I understand balancing the books and restructuring but we have enough players to sell on who don’t quite cut the grade to bring in the cash we need. Like what u have done so far!! We need 2 specialist fullbacks preferably with pace and a creative guy in the middle

  2. What a beautiful place for a football stadium. TEAM: Mannone Gardner Colback O’Shea Brown Cabral Larsson Johnson Giacherrini Sessengnon Altidore.

    • Happy to see Wes Brown back, he could be a big player if we can keep him fit. Has to be a concern that we are starting with 2 makeshift full backs again. Looking forward to seeing Cabral and Giacherrini.
