Sheffield United vs Sunderland Guess the Score: blunt the Blades

Another competition, another prize

It’s a frantic time for Salut! Sunderland over Christmas, with games on Saturday and again on Boxing Day followed by the visit to Forest next Saturday.

Everything that should appear on these pages will appear, so please keep coming back and checking for updates.

Christmas greetings to all Salut! Sunderland readers, contributors and editors. You’ll see the seasonal compliments more fully when you pop into the site on Christmas morning.

For now, just have a go at Guess the Score. Can we get revenge for losing at home to Sheffield United in September? Will the presence of Monsieur Salut at Bramall Lane have the same positive impact it had at the Stadium of Light when we beat Fulham 1-0?

They had a better Saturday than us, a draw at Aston Villa seeming a good deal more creditable than a lame 1-1 at home to bottom-on-the-league Birmingham City. Chris Coleman’s record still stands up: two wins, two draws and one defeat.

If you support SAFC and win, you’ll receive a copy of Tales From the Red and Whites Vol II. No Sixer this time – arguably an own goal by the publishers – but still a compendium of good reads.

This could be yours …

If you support the Blades, we’ll come up with a suitable alternative for a winner. The same applies to a neutral.

M Salut’s decision shall be final. The first entry is that of Dave Eyre, our Sheff Utd Who are You? volunteer, who reckons it will be 4-2 home win. The winner shall be the reader who is first to post a correct scoreline though he or she must have a UK delivery address.

Ha’way the Lads.

  1. Also ineligible but will for for fun for a sneaky 1-0 win for the Lads . So that scoreline is still up for grabs. But 4-2 to Sheff Utd is not – it’s the prediction of our Who are You? Interviewee Dave Eyre
