Sixer’s Scunthorpe Sevens: a good point but we need to find that poacher

What do you make of a draw at Scunny? A point gained or two thrown away? Luton open a gap, Barnsley close one and Portsmouth falter, so it’s a bit mixed. On the whole, against a very in-form side I’m inclined to be optimistic but I wasn’t there.

Pete Sixsmith, who was, will give us his considered opinion tomorrow. For now we’ll have to make do with his seven word post-match text and the warning it contains:

January 19 Scunthorpe United 1 (0) Sunderland  1  (o) Same old story. One goal rarely enough

    • Ah. Now the Brian from whose e-mail address our Brian sends his comments claims not to be him. Mmm …

      • More from the Life of Brian (s).

The messages from the Brian at the address ours uses suggests someone having a spot of fairly pointless fun (‘don’t know who you are’, ‘thanks for the pep talk’, ‘thanks for the clarification’ etc) but I cannot be sure. It’s either one and the same character or someone who knows him and is using his e-mail address.

  1. Brian. Are you really a Sunderland fan or have you come to this site to cause mischief, perhaps a Mag in disguise?

    • That’s definitely Sixer’s theory too Pete. If Brian were to offer his alternative as to how the club should be run I might take a bit more notice but as it stands he seems to be advocating getting the owners out, getting the manager out, getting rid of most of the squad and then I assume he thinks that a club with no owners, no manager and a team of 9 players will walk this pub league in which we find ourselves.

Until he can offer something more than just the same repetitive critical phrases I’ll choose to ignore him.

  2. Keep it coming Brian. We love to read this. Keep taking the tablets although I do agree with you about the draws.

    • First minor ‘ crisis ‘ of the new era . The momentum seems to have stalled a little and we need a new injection of something to fire us up again . To sell Maja in this transfer window would be crazy unless he is loaned back until the end of the season especially now that Will Gregg is injured. We can’t sign yet another injured player. I hoping Mr Satori has uncovered a new Tevez for us .

  3. Time to rattle cages again.
11 draws now, against mainly poorly resourced perennially struggling teams .
This manager is a fake and a charlatan which 8 have claimed frim the start.
I was flabbergasted to read mr insipid claim he emulates bielsa in terms of preparation and research.ffs!
Bielsa took over another sleeping giant and used the players he inherited ti go 4 points clear.
Why because he is a proper manager.
Our marquee player continues to do his uncanny brett angell impersonation ( being unkind ti angell in all honesty )
Players are clearly not motivated ..maybe thats why we cillect so many cards so they can stay out of the way.
Meanwhile Donald and methven spout about new safc etc and proceed to be tyre kickers extraordinaire making 8nsulting low ball offers ( for players who will undoubtedlly turn to guano under mr insipid. )
The club has been taken over by a couple of chancers with no money and mamaged by someone way way out of his depth. Those who think we are on the up because we have one a few and drawn most in what is a diabolically poor pub league ..really need professional help.

    • Why do you feel the need to rattle cages? Bit empty inside? Can’t you simply formulate an opinion without resorting to labels? Is it beyond you? We used to have a contributor called Smoggie who took contrary positions but did it with humour and without flinging clarts…you come over as bitter…no-one is wound up….no cages are rattled
