Starting with today’s visit to Bloomfield Road, where Kieran Richardson’s first-half goals had our fans chanting “who the f— is Darren Bent?”, this is Sunderland AFC in snapshot. Almost every week Pete Sixsmith offers his inimitable seven-word verdict on our games. When, rarely, Pete is absent, a supersub does it for him. 1. Super performance by the lads. I’m as proud as a cock-hen!

The gloss was slightly taken off when Bent-Bastard scored, but a fantastic 3 points.

If Steve can sign Sessegnon and Muntari, as well as a short term striker we are laughing!

And if the stars are in alignment, Bent will choke on a radish.
