Pete Sixsmith
saw DeAndre Yedlin’s schoolboyish attempt at a throw-in, rightly penalised, prompt the Newcastle move that broke our hearts. After coping well with the limited Toon threat up to that late point of the game, comfortably defending the splendidly taken Jermain Defoe opener just before half time, it felt like a real bodyblow when Mitrovic finished the move by easily rising above – yep – Yedlin to head home the equaliser. Newcastle then looked more likely than us to steal a winner in a game that ought to have extended six to seven-in-a-row but left us back in the bottom three. Sixer reckons we lost our way after being on top in the first half adding that our failure to hold leads could prove terminal …

2) *The window’s shut but so’s the trapdoor

  1. If Kirchhoff can’t last 90 minutes and once he comes off we concede points, let’s be unconventional and let him sit out the first half hour then bring him on.
Just park the bus or whatever it takes to hold out for that first 30 minutes then bring on the cavalry.
OK so this is a bit tongue in cheek, but how long will it take for him to be fit enough to play 90 minutes? We don’t have time to spare at this stage.

  2. My mam is 80 and has suffered enough, she keeps all the sky and bt sports channels so she can watch everything my late father did…
I get told, “David, I couldn’t eat my dinner, watched the game, why take off our best player Kirchoff, again, like at Southampton? I knew they would equalise.”

  3. I’m assuming Kaboul was injured, but N’Doye for Khazri made no sense at all; there was a feeling at that point all the initiative had been handed to the mags. A poor decision.

  4. Yedlin is an absolute clown. How much a week and can’t take a throw in?

Another two points thrown away by Sam. It was in the bag, just like the Soton game. Bad subbing for me, again.

  5. This is becoming a habit . We go infront , sit far too deep for far too long and the inevitable happens . I don’t think we’ll scrape our way out of the clarts this year .

  6. Another winning position needlessly hoyed away. Apart from the errors leading to their goal, I’d also be inclined to criticise Allardyce’s tinkering (once again) when we’re doing alright. LEAVE WELL ALONE SAM!

  7. Readers on this site will know that my biggest bugbear is the amount of foul throws perpetrated by professional footballers, and ignored by professional referees. Today’s wasn’t ignored however and it cost us 3 points. Back to school Yedlin.
