Sometimes in football you have to take a knock like that and I’m scratching my head.
I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed a game like that where we had so many attempts on goal without scoring. It was one of those days – we wouldn’t have scored if we’d have played all night.
But we have to go away, lick our wounds and get on with it. I signed Richard Kingson twice and I signed DJ Campbell too, and they’ve come back to haunt me.
Fair play to Blackpool, they are a breath of fresh air. They play the game expansively.
I couldn’t fault our performance apart from the goal. We’re young and we know that; we make mistakes and if I’m being critical we tried too many difficult things.
But it was just one of those horrible days which we have to forget.
If I’m being critical, you have to take your chances at this level. Teams pay big money for people to stick the ball in the back of the net and unfortunately we couldn’t do it today.

I’ve just watched the game after observing my customary black out this side of the pond I had a bad feeling when young Phillips came on. From what I’ve seen of him before I knew that he was going to be a threat to us with his pace and direct style. Well done to Blackpool. We should have had the game buried after 25 minutes but we didn’t. Charlie Adam was missing so even more credit to the Tangerines for battling out a victory.
Blackpool currently making a mockery of much bigger clubs with five away wins! well done Holloway. is it too much to expect us to buy a promising player, but also develop them?
