The return of Keir’s Player Ratings: Seb’s his star against West Ham

Keir-300x175Sunderland 1 – 1 West Ham: Player Ratings

After being silenced by family commitments – and perhaps a spot of homework from school – young Keir Bradwell returns belatedly to action with his Sunderland ratings from the West Ham game (sorry Hammers, our players only; if I were marking yours, Song would be the star man, followed by Downing – Ed). Compare and contrast with the considered verdict of Pete Sixsmith, and the one-word ratings of Rob Hutchison

Keir’s Player ratings: Rodwell, Johnson and PVA best of a poor bunch

Keir Bradwell

Monsieur Salut writes: Keir Bradwell‘s “after Len Shackleton” device for his ratings from Southampton – a blank page – divided opinion. This week normal business is restored. I would not quarrel with most of it, save that Larsson’s industry merited a high mark and Wickham was, in truth, no better served than Fletcher …

Keir’s Ghostly Player Ratings: Sunderland’s men of the match at Southampton

What would Keir Bradwell
, our marks-out-of-10 columnist, make of it? Keir’s Player Ratings: hail Ricky Alvarez, ‘my new star after Swansea game’

Keir-300x175

Monsieur Salut writes: Keir Bradwell got it the neck here when plonking a 10/10 on Jozy Altidore after the low-scoring American produced a 20-goals-a-season strike against Stoke City. I detected irony but Keir, busy preparing for his 14th birthday tomorrow, hasn’t let on. Happy birthday, old man. Your ratings will never please everyone but nor would anyone else’s. I liked Alvarez, too. I also thought Cattermole had another good game and that Buckley and Jones showed a fair amount of style. So you got at least some of it right according to my own subjective assessment. Apologies to Swansea supporters; Keir’s brief is to mark our players, not yours …

Keir Bradwell was late but not as late as the editor suspected. Just in time for it to appear before the Birmingham City game, his player-by-player assessment of Sunderland’s home debut landed. Here, then, are one young fan’s marks out of 10. Try to remember, this is a subjective exercise. You are not required to agree with all or even any of them …

Still wearing Brazil’s shirt with pride after night of fortune (or shame)

Peerless? It's certainly Keirless, but he's the owner
Peerless? It’s certainly Keirless, but he’s the owner

Not any Brazil shirt for 13-year-old Keir Bradwell, but a harkback to 1970 – though see Mick Goulding’s comment below – that he got for offering to “roadtest” one from the Campo Retro range.

You’ve seen what Paul “Sobs” Dobson, or rather his son, made of his Belgium top. Below you’ll find Keir’s admiring review of his choice.
