Walsall Guess the Score: ‘can we play you every week? Oh, we already do’

The experience of Saturday prompts a rule addition for the Salut! Sunderland prize Guess the Score: a match abandoned = a competition cancelled. No one had 1-1 in any case so there can be no cries of foul play. For the FA Cup 2nd round replay, we’ll make 90 minutes or the score after extra time, whichever applies, the one that counts for prize purposes. Feel free to add a guess as to how penalties would go, but that would be for fun only. As Jake put it when sending his banner image for the game, “Walsall yet again”. We will surely be getting weary of seeing one another. HaveĀ  a go anyway. That copy of Managers, from Tales From the Red and Whites, remains on offer to the winner. A Walsall fan who was first with the corrects scoreline would receive the same prize, either to enjoy for its own sake or to give to a Sunderland-supporting friend for Christmas. The two Walsall “Who are You?” last month were so good – Pete Sixsmith went so far as to say judging for next May’s annual awards could safely stop now – that we shall simply reproduce highlights along with a brief update if the interviewee Richard Hall or one of his Saddler friends can find time. In the meantime, Ha’way the Lads. A good cup run would be welcome provided it had no adverse impact on the more important business of gaining promotion.

  1. The eternal optimist says that it’s got to be my usual five nowt to the lads no slip ups this time goals will come from all over but fancy whatmore to a brace

  2. With JR saying Watmore will start I am intrigued at how he plans to set up and who will play alongside Roadrunner. He got the balance wrong at Burton and won’t want to do the same again. McGeady, Gooch, Maguire surely can’t all start with Watmore.

My team McLaughlin, Flanagan, Loovens, Baldwin, Maguire, Power, Honeyman, Cattermole, McGeady, Sinclair, Watmore.

    6 0 to us.
