Salut! Sunderland is very close to announcing the 2015 winners of our annual Haway awards – in other words, fans of other clubs who contributed Highly Articulate Who are You? interviews to our regular pre-match feature.

The shortlist supplied to our judges – see it here – has been whittled down from 13 to five. From Aston Villa, Burnley, Everton, Newcastle and Stoke – listed alphabetically – will come our top three.

I can tell you that votes have also been cast for supporters of Swansea, West Ham, Manchester United, Birmingham City and Crystal Palace. But the others are in the lead and there is a clear frontrunner among the five vying for the podium.

All will be revealed next week.

I love Pete Sixsmith’s introduction to his own selections, which he provides in reverse order as if judging Miss World: “As always, a difficult task as most of the entries are of a very high standard indeed. The short list included the best ones and boy, were they good.”

Here are the prizes on offer. First-placed will choose his or her preferred item and so on.

The first-placed candidate will be offered a straight choice between the prizes our sponsors have kindly promised, with second place choosing between what remains – and so on.
