Crystal Palace v Sunderland Guess the Score rollover: another Monday night win?

After three defeats
in his first four games, Big Sam must be wondering whatever happened to New Manager Bounce.

It has not exactly been a replica of Alan Pardew’s experience at Monday night’s opponents Crystal Palace.

After leaving the dark side of North-eastern football in January, he took Palace from Sunderland-style doldrums sailing up the league to finish 10th, Palace’s best in the Premier, pulverising us at the Stadium of Light along the way. And this season has been even better so far.

Guess the Score if you dare. The form book says we have little chance; the pundits expert their pace to tear us apart. But we went there pre-Pardew last season, on another Monday night in November, not long after the 8-0 thrashing at Southampton, and beat them 3-1.

A repeat of that would be nice, if improbable.

Have a go, whoever you support. No one guessed we’d lose 1-0 to the Saints so it is a rollover. That means an extra prize – two mugs instead of two or, if the sponsors – Personalised Football GiftsM Salut, drawn by Matt, colouring by Jake M Salut, drawn by Matt, colouring by Jake [/caption]

  1. The thin entry maybe reflected a feeling of resignation among our supporters but it’s surprising all the same that no one went with 1-0 to us.

  2. Having attended my first match at the age of 10 – ish, Monday will be by first match attended as an officially sworn in member of the OAP community. Many highs, many more lows have been experienced…I will continue to hobble along to whichever game I can get tickets for. Prediction: 1 – 1.
