Sixer’s Sevens: Ipswich double tells us a hard truth

Jake: ‘it’s not always pretty’

John McCormick writes: It’s half time and we’re 2-0 down in our first game after the closure of the transfer window. I blame Ellis Short. I’ve previously supported him as a good thing; now I think he’s tearing the heart from the club.

Pete Sixsmith’s seven word text, sent immediately as the game ended – without another goal – can be taken as corroboration. It describes exactly what happens when a decent manager in a great club is starved of funds.

  1. Short denied he was asset stripping the club in his very honest interview . Can he explain what his long term plan actually is? Preferably before the club folds .

  2. Utter bloody dross, how some of our so called professional players take their wages is criminal.

CC has his work cut out to even get this lot to safety, some of the older heads really need to take a long look at themselves.

Additionally, whoever took the decision to sell both of our keepers needs to be sectioned. Yet again the Club gets it so wrong for short term financial gain, what cost a decent keeper now.

  3. The fact that we keep being beaten by very ordinary sides is the frightening aspect of our predicament. The future does look bleak.
