Who are you? We’re Spurs (5)

Fame was clearly the spur, and the words have come in bucketloads from White Hart Lane. With reassuring brevity, Greg Meyer* rounds off Salut! Sunderland’s own silly season – and Salut! thanks ’em all

Surely Keane vs Keane is not a relegation dogfight

Deep in the leafy glades of Kent a group of Spurs faithful gather for team meetings … at a Kent pub.

Pre-game discussions at our pub over an appropriate curry strayed far and wide. A club born in 1879 followed by the other in 1882 postdated the birth of the famous mustard. Incidentally in 1742 it was made by Keen Robinson and Company. Great bunch of footballers probably needed a weekday job then.

Keane Roy is certainly making an impression thus far in the Premier. So too Keane Robbie, hoping for a ton up in goals this Saturday. Spurs seemingly able to score consistently at both ends makes for a keenly fought encounter. Sunderland in and Spurs near the relegation zone ups the stakes.

Our pub hopes the extra quality (money paid?) of Spurs should prevail. The return of Ledley King has no parallel at Sunderland. Not said pompously but to exemplify how important he is to Spurs. Perhaps the plumber’s delight at the back will abate.

Sunderland are certainly building quality with the likes of Kenwyne Jones, Craig Gordon and Kieran Richardson. McShane is an awkward customer at centre back as well.

Will Keane’s mustard, as per the bustling efforts against Portsmouth prove enough. Sorry, but after another round or two our merry band think that nice new Mr Ramos (lots in common with your man regarding the unsmiling demeanour) will ensure a close home win. Cheers … enjoy a fiery clash.
