Sixer’s Sevens: SAFC wallop Stoke City 4-0

This is where Pete Sixsmith captures the glory and shame, hope and despair, excitement and ennui of the Sunderland matchday experience. When, rarely, Pete is absent or delayed, a supersub does it for him and the seven-word verdict is preceded by an asterisk. Pete’s full analysis of the game will appear within a day or two.

And at last, the seven words convey good news. Sunderland whacked Stoke City to climb from second bottom to 11th; sorry the Spurs win made it 12th. Read more about the game at this link.

  1. Brilliant game. Although we had all the luck. Vaughan was great but for me. Man Of The Match was Mignolet. Look at the shots on target. It was our man between the sticks who stopped theirs and their man who failed with ours.

The only other thing I would say is, if Bardo can be handed a retrospective ban, then surely HUTH should also. 1 REally nasty Kick against the goalie and a later (unpunished) sicko slap in the face for the Excellent Bendtner.

Bendtner was great with Sess all the time gathering the ball and finding space. I think when he gets an understanding he will be good. Connor also looked sharp replacing Bendtner and they are similar styles of player.

I am happy with a 4- 0 win. Can we have this every week?
