Sixer’s Sevens: SAFC 0 Swansea City 0 – Sometimes it’s good to take the point

This is where Pete Sixsmith records his instant verdict, in seven words, on each Sunderland game. When he cannot make it, a supersub steps in and his (or her) seven-word summing-up is preceded by an asterisk.

This week the supersub happens to be John Mac, until such time as Pete’s actual text reaches John’s phone, which didn’t have a SIM card until an hour after the game ended. Some supersub that. John’s words “* Be thankful Swansea don’t have a Fletcher”

Pete’s follows:

Jan 29 2013 SAFC 0 (0) Swansea City 0 (0) Well it’s a point but that’s it

  1. No sorry Malcolm I am not that bloke because I sit at the front and when it rains I get pissed on more than once ha ha

  2. There’s something about a midweek game that inspires our team to not turn up. We only beat Reading because they turned up less.

We’ve got to get more positive in our tactics. When we win the ball in our half , then we’ve got to push out quickly and break at speed. We didn’t.
Vaughn, brilliant sometimes, other times, anonymous. In a word: inconsistent.

Maybe MON just didn’t want to lose this one, and thats why we got the negative tactics. He knows we just couldn’t cope if left too exposed. If Rose and Catts were playing then he might have been more positive.

  3. Just got back in house from the game and it was another lack luster performance why o why did we play 5 across the midfield and one up front again Vaughan and Larson were terrible I am sick to death of MON tacktics at home for god sake we were chasing shadows we were playing Swansea not Barcelona why do we not have a go at teams at home it was so borring I am not getting another season ticket next year I work hard for my money and I am not throwing it away watching that rubish anymore…
