It is a brand new poll for the purposes of votes cast so you can tick the box that appeals to you – the Mullermen or Messiahs – even if you voted in previous rounds.
The dreary second semi-final is out of the way, though I did come across a Sunderland supporter at Twitter, Chris Weatherspoon (“recreational writing – usually on SAFC – alongside various modern life moans”) who thought it had been good: “Think I’m the only person who actually enjoyed that match last night.”
Anyway, I hope to have a special Brazil 2014 “Who are You?” later, with a supporter of each finalist telling us how it is. For now, get some votes cast. Taking account of those received in earlier stages, Germany are narrowly ahead*. I shall be ticking the other box.
* Not so narrowly now, a few hours later: Germany now well in the lead
Germany all the way. For all of Messi’s undoubted brilliance, Argentina are tainted by association with Maradonna. Ite a shame lineker was too nice, when the hand of God complained the England had sided with Argentina’s opponents once (Iran?), to reply ” because you, Diego, are a cheat, and not just against England, and you have no understhanding of the word ‘sport'”
Fur mich; Deutschland!
So it’s goedenacht to my lovely Dutchie boys and guten morgen to Germany. To be brutally honest Holland were bloody awful last night (Argentina no better). The ball went sideways so often I thought it was a Ray Wilkins masterclass. Not wanting to lose became more important than wanting to win. Can’t see the bronze place playoff being much better.
