Sixer’s Sevens: Middlesbrough look useful – we look like strugglers

Sevens (640 pixels wide)

John McCormick writes: Pete neglected to send me a post-game text so I had to wait until Colin forwarded it. The e-mail he sent contained three possibilities. At half-time it was “Any early season optimism has disappeared already”, then came the seven words which fit the headline.

And last but not least, came seven words that might predict the future:

21st August Sunderland 1 (0): Middlesbrough 2 (2) Another season of struggle on the cards

13th August: Man City (1) 2  Sunderland (0) 1 : held them well but tired legs told

  1. That headline confuses me: they looked terrible! For large portions of the first half their midfield was dominated by Rodwell! Then in the second half Pienaar (34 year old winger) and Gooch (21 year old winger) controlled possession. We created some chances, that we failed to take, granted and Papy looked solid. We were poor, but Boro were awful.
