Malcolm Dawson writes………as M Salut said whilst enduring a dodgy internet connection on the train, “a win had to come sooner or later – we did worry how much later – but today’s at Bournemouth, was deserved. The usual bad start, the usual improvement, started the second half well on top, suffered a harsh-looking sending off (Pienaar), weathered a storm and went ahead. The star man was Victor Anichebe, a wonderfully physical presence, a smart goal and a penalty won.”
With Sixer watching Shildon romp to a 3-0 home win at Dean Street and me at Ironworks Road watching Tow Law concede the softest goal ever only a minute before missing a dubious penalty in a 1-1 draw with Northallerton – it falls to M Salut to act as sub and bring you his somewhat delayed 7 word summary of today’s game.

Rodwell works his magic again !
See what happens when you keep the manager off the bench! And what an astute tactical move to have Pienaar sent off so he wouldn’t get in the way. (Trivia: Fourth Premiership game he’s been dismissed from, all while playing for Moyes)
Can’t agree about Pienaar Bill. I think he is our best midfield player at the moment.
There was precious little to impress against Arsenal but I thought Pienaar did well trying to organise and cajole those around him, something Rodwell and Ndong didn’t do.
