Sixers Sevens: Norwich have all the possession, we score all the goals

Jake: ‘it won’t always be pretty’

Pete Sixsmith took his time in getting to Norwich, so we can look forward to an account of his ground-hopping as well as a match report from U2 at Carrow Road, where the seats have no name. (and perhaps Pete will include an explanation of what this means with his report**).

For now, though, we’ll have to make do with the instant, seven word verdict that he sends to M Salut immediately after the final whistle, and doesn’t it make a nice change from what he was sending last season? …

August 13 Norwich City 1 (0) Sunderland 3 (1) Very well organised and three cracking goals

August 8 Bury 0 (0) Sunderland (o) 1 Hardly convincing but a win’s a win

August 4 2017 Sunderland (1) 1 Derby County (1) 1 Encouraging second half. Something to build on

** John’s plea for help on missing the reference to a certain Irish band and one of its hits reminds me of my wife struggling to work out who needed to speak so urgently to her boss and finally just telling the latter: “there’s a Mister, er, Bono (?) on the line.” Her excuse is that it was years ago. But U2 were still rather well known.”

  1. Nice to see you today Pete. I understand perfectly your reference to U2 as we originally sat in the wrong row. What are your thoughts on the totally OTT amount of stewards. What the hell were they expecting?
