Pete Sixsmith was there to witness the first of three successive home games that could – like it or not – define our season. The first proved a disappointment, yet another draw. And this time we had to come from behind even for that. Monsieur Salut’s headline suggests the obvious question pending our fuller analysis of the match …

Not 1964/65, 1963/64. The latter was the promotion
season, the following season was a struggle up to the
last few games of the season. Even then, there was a gulf
between the top and next division under. Although, Leeds
United, promoted with Sunderland, made light work of the
difference.
Apologies – you are correct of course – Prydey just said 1964 and I was confusing the promotion season with the first one when I started going which was the first one back in the old First Division.
I’ll correct it.
Alternative 7 – Grigg misses sitter I could have scored.
Jack Ross,
Drawing conclusions……. he has his work cut out. We were good at the start of the season, but our more cavalier attitude has been missing for a while now.
Are the opposition just doing their homework well or are we just having a mid season slump, if this is a slump then on the good side we are at least still registering points, so it could be worse.
Ross just needs to find the spark again, easier said than done but I think he is more than capable of turning it around, we just need a convincing, high scoring game to ignite our promotion credentials again.
Jack Ross
Drawing conclusions…he is a dud
