Sunderland vs Walsall prize Guess the Score. Playing catch-up on Luton and Barnsley

Monsieur Salut says: we will go early with Guess the Score for this Saturday. Pete Sixsmith’s Soapbox from Barnsley will not be with us until later in the day and we also need to check whether our headlines are being ‘grabbed’ by the newsnow.co.uk aggregator (Sixer’s Sevens seems to have avoided their radar last night) …

A draw at Barnsley can hardly be described as two points wasted. Sadly, coming after the disappointing stalemate (and very nearly defeat) at Wycombe, the reality is that automatic promotion is looking a lot less likely.

We can but hope that Sunderland will at last stamp some authority on League One and find winning as easy as Luton Town, nine points clear of us at the top. Even then we need them or Barnsley to falter.

Barnsley play at Doncaster on Friday night and I fancy them to win, stretching their lead over us to seven points with two more games played.

Will we at least close the gap again on Saturday? We haven’t managed to beat Walsall in three league and cup games this season and continue to struggle to dominate opponents or cope with their game plans.

That horrific tackle by Marcus Bean has cut another season short for poor Duncan Watmore and George Honeyman’s folly at Wycombe means he is suspended. A massive effort is required from those available to Jack Ross.

Have a go at guessing the score.

The prize mug awaits the winner, who shall be the first to post the correct scoreline. All are welcome to enter and a suitable alternative to what you see below would go to a Walsall winner.

But a UK delivery address is essential, as is the patience of a saint as Monsieur Salut is notoriously slow in ordering prices (sorry, Phil Davison in Mexico and a few others).

Ha’way the Lads.

  1. Forget that last comment, didn’t see score already taken. Obviously it’s gonna be a 3-1 home win ?

  2. We will tan them 4 but be saddled with 3. Whether the weather will penetrate my shoe leather is another question alto gether. Haway, it’s 4-3 to The Lads.
