From Rotherham to Wycombe Wanderers via Shrewsbury Town, Southend United and Tranmere Rovers: our third financial ramble

Here are the last five of the clubs in League One apart from Blackpool, Bolton, Bury and Sunderland, who will arrive presently, by which I mean when I get round to it.

As ever, visiting fans are welcome to post comments, corrections, updates and their thoughts on their and other clubs’ prospects for the season.

Sunderland vs Shrewsbury Guess the Score: make it two in a row

At a busy period for Sunderland and therefore Salut! Sunderland, postings may appear out of natural sequence.

Pete Sixsmith’s full report on the 1-0 win over Bradford City, including his thoughts on the disallowed City “equaliser”, will be published later.

For now, premature as it may seem, let us get on with other business by inviting entries for the latest Guess the Score competition: Shrewsbury at home on Saturday.

HAWAY awards: Bournemouth, Chelsea, Shrewsbury and Watford fight for Salut! SAFC honours

Jake: ‘with thanks to all opposing fans who participate’

See how we introduced this year’s awards at https://safc.blog/2017/05/haway-its-awards-time-again-with-bournemouth-middlesbrough-swansea-making-early-running/

The suspense mounts.

Early next week, Salut! Sunderland will announce the winners of the HAWAYS, our annual Who are You? awards for the best interviews with opposing supporters.

The prizes shall be:

* a year’s subscription
to the ever-brilliant magazine When Saturday Comes

* a voucher for £50 to spend with Classic Football Shirts

* a print from Art of Football. You’ll recall their highly individual depictions of Jermain Defoe’s winning volley against Newcastle United, Kevin Phillips and the heroes of 1973. A winner choosing this prize would naturally look more widely around Art of football’s range

Forget Oscars: the HAWAY awards are what matters to fans of Everton, Stoke, Chelsea … and Shrewsbury

Jake: ‘with thanks to all opposing fans who participate’

Salut! Sunderland gets big hits for “Who are You?” interviews, the Q and A sessions with opposing fans that we publish before every game, writes Monsieur Salut.

And at the end of each season, we present the Haways – Highly Articulate Who Are You? awards – to those our judges deem to have been the best.

It is entirely subjective but a spot of fun. If any reader who follows the series wishes to have a say, please just leave a comment (using your correct e-mail address, which is not shown but I can see) and you will be contacted.
