Sixer’s Sevens (2008/2009)

Petesix

Each matchday, Pete Sixsmith – Sixer to friends – delivers his seven-word verdict. It has not always made a pretty sight, but it IS always to the point and fair. His seven words* at around 6pm today are some of the most important he will ever have written – which is saying a lot for a bloke who has passed exams, taught Stan Cummins’s sister (isn’t that right Pete?) and filled in his own tax forms … roll on salvation

* Sometimes there is a delay at Pete’s end and an emergency substitute – me, first in Abu Dhabi, now in France – is pressed into service. Sometimes there are technical difficulties. Sometimes Salut! Sunderland is caught napping. Preview seven-worders are also usually mine, not Pete’s. Between us, we do our best………

  1. I guess it would be unseemly to strike up “Blue Moon” and get a chorus going of, “Two one, we beat the scum two one…..”

  2. Very very unlucky, Sunderland. I wasn’t a happy Liverpool fan during that game! I think Sunderland have a very good team this year and should do alright.
