Lighting. If you thought that there was anything classy about Spurs first half performance then you are very easily satisfied. We weren’t great particularly in the first half but Spurs were a lot worse. Great finish for your second goal but Spurs were horrible for the most part. I appreciate that you had a lot of injuries but so do we.
I can’t recall losing at home against a team that provided such little threat over 90 minutes. There was a game in about 1988 when we lost 2-0 to Chester City when the opposition managed two attacks and as many goals.
Dreadful performance where the lack of even a consolation replacement for Bent might well have made a difference. There is no possibility of changing the way that we play in the final third when Gyan alone provides out only attacking option.
A good performance overall. Sessegnon looks like a class act. He worked his socks off and didn’t put a foot wrong all match. Ref not great, however, a draw would have been fair but well done spurs. We couldn’t quite get through. Yes, we’ve hit a bad patch but overall this season is still way above all our expectations. Did anyone really expect europe last august? I didn’t. Top ten would have been wonderful and on that brief bruce has delivered and then some.
An entertaining, end to end game for the most part. We’re taking a huge step in the right direction this season and all looks good for the future. I for one am happy with progress and no matter where we finish am pleased to be witness to a sunderland side which has shown the ability to live with the best this season. Obviously i still hope we finish as high as possible but we’ve made massive strides beyond what we had to put up with in seasons gone by.
Well done quinn, bruce et al. I look forward with pride, satisfaction and a renewed hope that my beloved club will be challenging for honours and not just scrapping for survival in reasons to come. We’re in good hands. At last!
Spurs just one step ahead of you. I don’t think so Pete. You were seven points adrift with Chelsea and Liverpool ahead of you before the game started. Even without Bale, VDV, Modric and Lennon. We had that little bit of extra class. I know you had players out too and you are a good side. Just get ahead of Liverpool
