Do they mean us? A Fulham view of Sunderland

We like your red and white stripes, Philip

We have already heard from Philip Mison, Fulham fan and blogger, about tomorrow’s game.

Here is
what he has had to say at his own pages on the ESPN site, having first picked Monsieur Salut’s brain a little …

Back to the Sunderland game
. What is going on up there? Surely this is a nailed-on home win, isn’t it? The side just can’t score. Adam Johnson has been bought to provide the bullets for Steven Fletcher…er, that’s the only gambit.

If the old Burnley battering ram doesn’t score, the team is cooked. Stephane Sessegnon doesn’t appear to like playing for a struggling side, while in midfield they are more workmanlike rather than creative (and Cattermole is an injury doubt). As the BBC’s ace ‘pundit’ sees this as a nailed-on draw, expect Fulham to win by three or four.

Seriously, these are the bread and butter games we must take all three from. Sunderland have been trying their fans’ patience ever since offloading Bent. His successors failed, or were injured (Danny Welbeck, Fraizer Campbell) and does O’Neill seriously feel Louis Saha still has some bullets to fire? There are mutterings about the gaffer in the northeast, the Mackem feel they’re in a false position, but the squad clearly needs additions in January if they are not to get sucked down towards the bottom. However, knowing they are not scoring freely in the manner the Whites are, expect the Black Cats to really put in a shift to try and negate us — as they did at Goodison last week (er, we also had three clear-cut chances even before Adam Johnson’s goal – ed).

The positives for Fulham fans of course are that goals for us at present are likely to come from any one of half a dozen positions…

… Pull up a seat for Sunday’s game and get your flags out if going to the ground — we are overdue a win so let’s give Sunderland a lesson in marksmanship. Dimitar Berbatov to score? I’d put my house on it. COYW!

  1. Seriously, you expect this arrogance from a Man u fan. Everton fans came on here and admitted we matched them, why comment on something you don’t know about? And how was Danny Welbeck a failure exactly?

Next time Fulham play up here I suggest people should hand count the amount of fans they bring up. It won’t take long.
