Stop worrying Vince. Up until this week we hadn’t really been doing it away either.
Isn’t this typical of our bizarre season?2 games have given us hope where non lived before.But my heart still sinks at the thought of this lot doing the business in a home match.We just haven’t done that at home at all in the PL.
Was a great achievement yesterday,I cannot recall such a topsy turvy season.
Just what had the Not So Special One ordered to be done to the pitch? Players auditioning for Bambi On Ice. It of course backfired when Aziwhateverhisnameis slipped and let Jozy in.
It always seemed strange to hear Gus say we were too open with a back four…… after being ripped apart easily with a back five. He’s thankfully realised you put your best team out, you have a go and if that isn’t good enough so be it. For all the stick O’Shea and Brown have had recently we’re not easy to beat when they’re playing together and will be desperate to avoid relegation on their CV’s. Keep it going lads.
The problem for years has been our midfield. They grafted their socks off yesterday but that won’t be the team to break down Cardiff. Hoping young Connor is OK and Gus sticks Fabio up top with him. The Great escape is on!

When we play a back four, we are not actually too bad. Our weakest area is the midfield [ and has been for several seasons ] They do not offer enough protection, and I have never seen a team give the ball away so easily.
It was madness to sell Meyler [ for peanuts ] He is a very good continuity player. He is powerful, can pass, and gets forward well. In my opinion he is better than anyone we have at present.
We should also have kept Campbell.
The return to 4 at the back has seen a turn a round in form we have had many wasted opportunities this season we can not slip up now, 4 points from the premiership elite in the last 2 games was not expected but Cardiff, Swansea & WBA are vital and will keep us up, the world had written us off let them eat their words. It was a pen! ,!
Rob said “There is still HOPE!!!” Even more important than that there is belief; amongst the players and also the fans. This will have also spread to our opponents over the next few games who would be feeling nervous anyway. Looking at how we have performed over the last two games they will now be feeling intimidated.
Momentum is everything , especially with us it seems, either feast or famine . I always said that a famine period at the wrong end of a season would eventually send us down and it was. If somehow , miraculously ,we’ve entered a feast period just it time it could well keep us up.
If we complete this resurrection it will comparable to the one that launched a billion chocolate eggs !
How vital will that equaliser in the last couple of minutes against Man C prove to be? Six points against them and Chelsea would have had us flying. Still, who knows, we might beat Man U?
We have been rubbish at home all season, but we must now concentrate on getting maximum return in these last three.
Hey Scouse. Repay the favour at Norwich tomorrow.
At least the unlikely 4 points from these 2 games gives us a slim chance of survival. There is still HOPE!!!
The fat bird was gargling this time last week. She’ll not be crooning for a while longer.
Now we need the even more unlikely points from teams near the bottom, AND AT HOME!
I have only 4 things to say:
1. Sunderland were magnificent.
2. Chelsea couldn’t shoot their way out of a paper bag tonight.
3. Gus got his tactics spot on.
4. Martin Tyler was so disappointed when Connor scored.
That’s all I have to say.
