Pete Sixsmith, back from groundhopping in North Wales, saw little in it a half time. But Sunderland pretty much collapsed in the second half, going behind and then trying to go further behind until Vardy’s second made a Leicester title more likely, which we applaud, and a Sunderland relegation a near-certainty unless we can play a lot better next Saturday and Rodwell and Borini don’t miss the sort of chances they had today . These are Sixer’s intiial thoughts, in seven words …

Wishfull thinking there Pete , Rowell instead of Rodwell , if only ……..
It’s hard to fault M’Vila or Cattermole on their last two performances whereas Rodwell has missed a couple of sitters but he has at least been in a position to miss them. Defoe isn’t getting any clear chances with the current line up and we need more bodies in the box.
Can’t blame Pete for the typo Drummer but we get the point. Have corrected it.
Wasn’t complaining , it brought back unexpected pleasant memories .
It sure did and wishful thinking indeed.
Was that my Freudian slip?
If he doesn’t start he HAS to be a better substitute the Rodwell or N’Doye, particularly when it’s M’Vila and Khazri being taken off?!
Once again the substitutions were baffling, but the entire 2nd half was nonsense.
Can anyone explain to me why we effectively swapped the inconsistent Fletcher for the useless N’Doye ?
N’Doye is cheaper and we needed to reduce the wage bill to get Kone. Possibly.
Pete pretty well sums it up. Okay first half, without looking to have much penetration. Abysmal second half. Toward the end we could not string two passes together.
As for the shooting………….words fail me.
Full marks to Leicester. Teamwork, organisation and flat out determination. Worthy winners.
NB – I still don’t understand why Larsson is not used. Personally I’d start with him rather than Cattermole or Borini. IMO he is a better footballer than either, and he offers more threat from set pieces than anyone else we have.
Massive opportunity missed. Could’ve all but relegated Newcastle. Thought the passing was almost non-existent and the shooting, the little of it there was, was abysmal. Missing chances like Rodwell’s is what gets you relegated. It’s evident that this season Lady luck has decided to flirt with somebody else, and when you’re in our position, she’s what you need. HAVE TO BEAT NORWICH!
Nothing has changed and we roll on to next week.
I knew the writing was on the wall as soon as I heard that Vardy hadn’t scored for six games.
