Colin Randall writes: Sensational. After a heartbreaker of a goal at the end of the first half, Sunderland came back from 2-1 down to win with wonderful strikes from Fabio Borini and Jermain Defoe to add to Wabi Khazri’s first-half screamer. The referee Mike Jones had a stinker and at times made it look as if SAFC were playing 12 men with some crazy decision all over the pitch. He should have sent off Cahill in the first half (Terry did go right at the end) and repeatedly got his calls utterly wrong. Never mind. One win – at home to Everton on Wednesday – and Sunderland are safe yet again. Expect Pete Sixsmith‘s considered account to be somewhat upbeat; this is where his seven-word instant verdict appears …

What a game what drama, supporting Sunderland is never dull, my daughter was at her first game yesterday and is now smitten. I tried to tell every game isn’t like that, but why spoil the excitment
You wouldn’t be dishonest to say every season is like this though
Following Sunderland is like following Barnstoneworth United (and they play in red and white stripes too!)

But you really need to watch the whole thing to see what happens when they win!
Huge fan of ripping yarns and Golden Gordon was always my favourite because of the sentiments and the red n white stripes . If your looking for something even closer to home ,try the Bostock cup with Tim Healy and Nick Hancock .A spoof about a team in red n white stripes winning the FA cup ,spot on .
Good call Drummer. I hadn’t seen that before. And to top it off a big slice of “Sylvia” by Focus.
I must admit after Chelsea went infront for the 2nd time I was just waiting for the mags to score at Villa and effectively seal our fate . The footballing gods in their wisdom decided to inspire our lads instead and point the mags towards their natural home .Absolutely inspired performance , one that deserved to mean something and it has , we’re in touching distance again , I can barely believe it !
Fantastic! I agree about the health warning Jake. Three goals against Chelsea? Who would have guessed that [ clearly our” guess the score ” winner did ]
We must now focus against Everton, and try to finish it on Wednesday.
Need to start planning next season’s tactics against Smoggie’s boys!
Well we will need to replace all of those points we took from the Jaw Dees.
Or this time next week you and the mags might be planning next seasons derby matches down below lol. Never mind, Boro will do the northeast proud
You are a prat smoggie, you should be enjoying your promotion instead of being, well, you….now hitch up your 45inch waist stone washed denims and boogie on down to eston.
Well done Smogster. Please visit my ebay site where I have for sale several gas masks and air filtration devices which evry PL fan will need next season (INCLUDING US) for when they visit Smog City. You’re still only the third biggest team in the North East.
Fourth biggest, South Shields are my second team…anyone see that goal in the Tow Law game?
There should be a health warning printed on the back of Sunderland season tickets. I was still shaking ten minutes after the final whistle.
