Is a mug the way to a despairing Sunderland fan’s heart? Would the already rosy life, relatively, of a Baggie be made complete by having something new to pour his tea into?
There is very little Monsieur Salut wants to say about the third Guess the Score prize competition in a week. It is painful enough to think about Sunderland’s wretched season without having to find something new to write about it on these pages.
So while SAFC supporters hope against hope for a performance at the Hawthorns that restores pride and faith, and Baggies serenely approach a weekend in which three points are seen as routine, we simply invite our readers of either persuasion to enter.
The winner may choose a mug from any of those seen above. The first to add the correct scoreline to the Comments below is that winner provided he or she has a UK delivery address.
No one guessed 1-3 for the Stoke game or a 2-0 defeat in the cup at Burnley. I did consider making the WBA match another of those discriminatory double prize competitions – two mugs but only if the winning entry accurately plumps for a Sunderland win – but decided it would feel too much like doubling a misbehaved child’s pocket money in return for a vague promise not to burn the house down.
So one winner, one prize is the drill.
Ha’way the Lads… and pop over to https://safc.blog/2017/01/west-brom-vs-safc-who-are-you-ballad-of-the-running-baggie/ for another brilliant interview in Salut! Sunderland’s Who are You? series.
A Baggie got closest but no winner
I fancy us this time ill go 2-1 Sunderland
I think it’ll be a draw, 2-2.
The Lads to win 3-1 and the start of another mini revival (hopefully).
The Baggies will be so complacent that we will score three but then so will they! 3-3
These two could play for ever without a sniff of a goal scoring opportunity. Nowt Nowt.
WBA 3 SAFC 1
1-1
Great escape this time round?
I’m not so sure.
Baggies 0 SAFC 2 – Why not?
1-2 to the lads
0-1. Defoe
Hi 2-1 to the Baggies. Good news for you is we always lose when I bet on the Albion
Well, what to do? In the worst season ever, 2005-2006, Sunderlsnd won 1 nil at the Hawthorns. A repeat will do, 1-0 to the visitors.
I remember the sheer delight of exiting the ground to our fans chanting “We’ve got nine points”. What will it be this time………if our fans can bring themselves to sing post match!
