Happy New Year, Bonne Année, Feliz Ano Nuevo from Salut! Sunderland

As the Salut! Sunderland team look forward to an early night in preparations for their visits to the seaside, whether that be on the Fylde Coast, the sand dunes of Formby, the Cote d’Azur or la Playa de San Lorenzo may we all take a minute to wish all of our visitors (whichever team they follow), those who leave comments, those who occasionally contribute articles to the site and those who come here simply to read what we get around to putting up, a very Happy, Prosperous and Peaceful New Year.

Join us later for Sixer’s immediate post match seven word verdict, direct from Bloomfield Road, via Merseyside or France with more than a little input from Spain, then tomorrow for Pete’s unique report of the game and the start of the build up to the next one – Charlton on Saturday.

May we also wish the same to all the players, non playing staff and officials involved with the club who we know also occasionally visit these pages. Who knows what the next twelve months will bring but whatever the rest of the season has in store and whichever division we find ourselves in this time next year, let’s keep the faith because we are Sunderland ‘Til We Die

John Mac hoping to be celebrating rather than having a hair of the dog come 5.00 pm tonight
Our graphics man Jake: ‘forget the hangovers – let’s get the year off to a cracking start.
M Salut – with his good pals Barnes and Benno who he’ll be glued to later at his apartment en France
Malcolm Dawson, somewhat older but no wiser will be hoping he can remember where he left the car after the match.
Having helped turn Blackpool red and white, Pete Sixsmith will be looking forward to a relaxing ride back on the supporters’ bus. Of course it will be all the more relaxing if The Lads do the business.

  1. Happy New Year to all at Salut! Sunderland. Always a good read but all the more enjoyable when we’re winning. Thanks!

  2. Happy New Year everyone. Can’t wait for Barnes and Benno this afternoon and keeping an eye on the letterbox whilst awaiting the arrival of my Charlton tickets.
