Sixer’s Sevens: West Bromwich Albion 3 (1) – Sunderland 0 (0): Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse…

Jake says Pete is the star man
Jake says Pete is the star man

John McCormick writes:

After last week’s second half I was hopeful of at least a point but on a day when four ex-Sunderland players scored none of the current ones did. Texts from Pete during the match painted a depressing picture, and that was before Fletch smashed his shoulder. Pete’s first “seven” was “Pathetic: a counter revolution may be needed” but I think the second he sent crystallises all our fears:

  1. I sort of forgave Diakite his indiscretion with Ozil. Does he have a trophy wall at home with framed shirts? Well, get him out on loan to Hartlepool and he can collect Fleetwood/Oxford/Stanley Accrington tops.

  2. Inept. Passionless. No creativity. No drive. Second to every ball. Diakite swapped shirts at half time with Anelka. Thats just about sums things up.

Listen, if I was getting paid £25,000 a week you can be sure of one thing: I’d be giving 200% and being stretched off with exhaustion at the end of every game.
Heck, some people would do it for free if they had a chance to play for S’land.

Are the players playing for PDC? No-one seems to match his passion. However, is he starting to lose the dressing room?

    • Apparently he tried to swap shirts at half time with Ozill last Saturday ! Is that what what SAFC means to him, being paid a fortune to admire the opposition ?! Talk about becoming a laughing stock , lost for words!

      • Oh did he now?…..Id be making sure he doesn’t get any more “trophies”….not picking him….9 goals shipped in 3 games…..that is a disgrace.

        Jeez,can we get any lower?

  3. The Baggies have a voodoo over us. Have had for a while. Let’s be honest this wasn’t the shock result of the day. Saints followed by Hull have that distinction. Did anyone really doubt that Sess would have a good game? can’t believe we sold him but turned down a good offer for Ji…..go figure as our US cousins would say

Wonder what the odds will be on surviving with only 1 point after 7 games? May be worth a punt. Not yet dead in the water…..yet

By the way I’m aware that superstition is bollocks for a rational, educated middle aged man……on the other hand a life time of Safc drives the rational towards the inexplicable

    • We should not have sold Sess to a rival near us in the PL. We should have sold him to Al-Shabang or whatever that club is thats nowhere near us.

  4. No one does disasters like SAFC,…this was an unmitigated one……hey ho only Liverpool and Man Utd up next…..all we have in defense is gallows humour now.

The football Gods are very upset with us… Bruce avenged his last mauling at SJP and even Elmo scored……

  5. I’ve typed about six sentences and then rubbed them out. 90% of me no longer gives a shit. From an exhiliarating high on Thursday to plumbing the depths today. I feel totally deflated.

  6. If DiCanio’s out of he’s depth we as a team are trying to keep afloat with concrete armbands. This season is turning into a disaster before our very eyes,is there even an answer?
