A proper-sized crowd was in great heart, as even low crowds are when Sunderland are involved, and Bardo finishing like SuperKev capped a great first half in which we passed quite superbly and made a mockery of being second bottom (bottom if losing today). We didn’t lose. We did what we always do, beat Man City at home 1-0 – that’s four in a row – and now look forward to real progress. Wes Brown was magnificent, Bardo and Ki and Johnson and (despite that iffy tackle) Larsson were among the other heroes and spare a thought for Gus Poyet. he got them passing. Pete Sixsmith, as ever, captures it in seven words, Sixer’s Sevens, and will be back with the nest matchday report you’ll find …
