Good to see that Poyet has finally realised the value of playing a settled side. He seems to have decided his best 14 players, and sticks to them.
I’m pleased to see that we are getting the ball forward with a bit more urgency. I think he has realised that we don’t have a Messi in midfield, and that our slow build up merely allowed opposing teams to regroup when they lost the ball.
We are beginning to look a half decent side, and the tragedy is that we could/should have been doing this a lot earlier [ IMO ]
Fantastic performance and result. Hopefully a bonus point at United then back into the fray for the baggies and the swans , 4 points from those two games should seal a remarkable resurrection .
I’ve rarely been as confident that we would get a great performance and result as going into this game.

He was warming up on the touch line , a forgotten man . When Giacharini scored the players celebration seemed to erupt were Altidore was warming up , but he seemed not to be involved fully. Body language can tell you a lot.

What a great result.I am in Barcelona for the weekend,and my wife would not look at the result till full time,we were on tentrhooks on top of Barcelona Cathedral when we saw the result…I looked to the heavens and said a few Hail Mary’s.
Will be at home though for next two huge homes games…..or maybe I should miss them too…..but .what a season it has turned out to be.

The fly in the ointment Rob is that the Mags can’t win for toffee at the moment but maybe Cardiff will find it hard to score and that’ll end up 0-0 and it won’t be enough for them. Chelsea’s win yesterday ought to give them something to play for in their last match assuming they are still in with a chance of the title.
You also missed out Villa who if they fail to beat Hull next weekend could end up with only 35 or 36 points. I can see us still needing a result against Swansea to guarantee survival.
As good a performance as we have had the whole season, 4 goals and a clean sheet, the sending off was right the pen was dubious, but it had no bearing on the result we were better on the day. Cardiff will beat Newcastle and get 35 pts, Fulham may get a draw or beat Palace 34 pts max Norwich won’t win again we need 3 more points 1win or 3 draws it will go to the wire
