Jake: ‘Sixer does it in seven words, no more, no less – unless he miscounts’
Pete Sixsmith saw a vastly improved Sunderland performance, another clean sheet for Vito Mannone but no goals and therefore yet another draw. As this was a game many supporters feared would end in disappointment of a harsher kind, that is a perhaps some way short of disaster. Except, as Sixer’s instant seven-word verdict makes clear, we still show no sign of being able to make the most of our chances …
Jake bemoans our finishing and comes to Rangel’s aid: ‘Never a red card & our strikers couldn’t hit a cow’s bum with a banjo’
Sept 27 SAFC (0) 0 Swansea City (0) 0 Better performance but cannot finish teams off
Sept 23 Capital One Cup 3rd Round: SAFC (1) 1 Stoke City (1) 2 No Wembley date this March. Wasted evening
Sept 20 Burnley 0 (0) SAFC 0 (0) A thoroughly disappointing performance. Early optimism evaporating

Sept 13 SAFC (1) 2 Tottenham Hotspur (1) 2 Not quite sure how we managed that>

I’d have taken a point before the game.
I was actually encouraged by this performance. We had a lot of attempts on goal/target and against a very good Swansea team.
Rodwell needs to come good,- he was a bit anonymous after the first 10 mins for some reason.
Alvares looks like he could be the ticket after a few games and some fitness under his belt.
Is it just me or does Buckley “stumble” past people? Anyway, he’s decent at stumbling and stumbled into Rangel and got a red card decision.
Solid performance at the back as we limited a very good team to long range efforts. Overall, I’m encouraged.
Hope Shildon 1 Stalybridge Celtic 0 was some compensation…. sounds like a better gane?
After last season when they whipped us home and away, I was fearing the worst….thought Bony would have started. Swansea have quickly established themselves as a decent Prem side. Whilst we’re all aching for a first win, that’s the fifth game where our results have improved on last season….or the most recent fixture in Burnley’s case. I know people will be frustrated but considering who we had managing and where we were after 6 games last season, we’re making progress.
Now a nice win against Stoke and things will look rosier
