The buildup to Chelsea v SAFC has begun with Guess the Score. Soon there’ll be another of our ‘Who are You?’ interviews. For now, though, some ideas for late Christmas shopping with a Sunderland flavour …
In an ideal world, Salut! Sunderland would have is own busy sales department, teams of people beavering away to dispatch SAFC-related merchandise to all corners of the world and keep Sixer, Jake and the rest of us in a style to which we are not accustomed.
But that ideal is beyond us. Our modest forays into the field were amateurish, far too time-consuming to justify the effort and, in the end, spectacularly unsuccessful.
Along the way, however, we have managed to attract those who are good at this kind of thing to sponsor our competitions and, in a few cases, advertise with us. So it is time for Salut! Sunderland to return the favour.
Step forward Personalised Football Gifts, the Weardale-based company run by a Sunderland supporter, Ian Philipson, and the sponsor of our Guess the Score competition.
We are mightily grateful to Ian and his team for their support. But it is an arrangement that necessarily depends on their business benefiting from the partnership. In other words, there is no need to wait for a competition win – you can make purchases, for yourselves or as gifts for others, from their wide range of products including t-shirts, prints, mugs of course and items ranging from mouse mats and notebooks to jigsaws and wallets.
Ian tells me the deadline for orders to be posted in in time for Christmas is midday on Friday. Help Salut! Sunderland by choosing Personalised Football Gifts for late presents.
The link to SAFC-related pages is http://www.personalisedfootballgifts.co.uk/sunderland/sunderland-gifts. But you can navigate from there for merchandise based on other clubs, even Newcastle United in case – like Monsieur Salut – you have Black and White sheep in the family. “Keep the faith,” says Ian, wisely.
Still plenty of time to enter this week’s Chelsea v SAFC Guess the Score, whether you support Sunderland, Chelsea or neither: Go to https://safc.blog/2015/12/chelsea-vs-safc-guess-the-score-will-leicester-result-help-or-hinder/
Friday – midnight in this case – is also the deadline for entries in the Classic Football Shirts competition.
Salut! Sunderland and Classic Football Shirts combined to offer all SAFC fans around the world – in other words, no Guess the Score-type restrictions on overseas delivery addresses AND no one is ineligible to enter – the chance of winning a £50 voucher to spend, choosing from the huge Classic Football Shirts collection of original football kits from around the world.
“Whether new products with the tags still on, rare player issue items or pre-owned classic shirts from the past, our site has something for any football fan,” says CFS’s Danny Taylor, who describes working with a stock of 300,000 tops as like being a museum curator.
“It couldn’t be simpler to enter all you have to do is answer the question: who is Sunderland’s all-time top goal scorer?.”
Enter the competition by sending your reply to email@example.com before the closing date of midnight on December 18 . No answers or comments below – the winner will be selected at random from all correct entries received. There is no special consolation prize for answering: ‘It’s either Jozy Altidore or Danny Graham.’
Every entrant will receive a £5 voucher towards purchases at Classic Football Shirts
