Monsieur Salut guessed at ESPN that Gus Poyet would settle for a point. Pete Sixsmith said at haf time he’d take the 1-1 we then had. Anyone who saw or listened to the game will know we got out of jail. Spurs dominated, threatened, hit woodwork, went close too often for comfort. It made the wretched simulation of Erik Lamela (our ‘Who are You?’ interviewee did warn us about him) and Danny Rose seem so unnecessary. But maybe they had a point; after the second equaliser we might even have snatched it. Sixer’s customary seven-word instant verdict (his last one stretched only to six words, until corrected rather late, but never mind that) tells you all you need to now for now…

A good point from a game where, although we weren’t great in possession, made you believe we can games this season. It would be great to start that at Burnley.
A couple of things about our play however: while we know we have players that can score goals we only had one shot on target again. The movement when one of our lads gets the ball is generally poor, though we noted after the game how much Giaccherini improves that. Maybe we need him in the middle instead of Larsson?
The three games we have taken points from were all lost last season.
We showed 100% effort and application on a day when we were outplayed and earned a point . This is a good sign because on occasions similar to this in the past , Di Canio springs to mind we’ve thrown the towel in . Well done lads , to have the heart and determination to come back twice , bodes well for the future .
Difficult to believe we can be so comprehensively outplayed and draw. None of the goals will be candidates for gial of the month but it was agame where we deserved nothing. Is that a good sign? Lets wait and see.
